We are very pleased to welcome you and your family to Montgomery Primary Academy.

"We know what we are; but not who we may become."

Shakespeare

Every child at Montgomery is given the chance to thrive, and what makes Montgomery special is the wealth of opportunities that every single child is provided with during their time at primary school that stretches way beyond the curriculum. We believe that enrichment is an entitlement!

At the heart of our curriculum is our belief that physical and mental well being is vital. Pupils access specialist PE provision alongside a vast array of additional sporting clubs and competitions. We have been awarded the Gold Artsmark in recognition of our enriched curriculum, which includes working alongside the Hippodrome Theatre, an artist-in-residence, Birmingham Royal Ballet and The Royal Shakespeare Company to name but a few of the partnerships we have cultivated over the years.

Most importantly, pupils are happy at Montgomery and are big-hearted. They support local charities and work alongside the local community volunteering and know what it means to be an active, positive member of society.

From performing on the radio to working with a horticultural expert, each experience is mapped from EYFS to Year 6 and helps our young learners develop the confidence, resilience and articulacy to become successful citizens.

"Everyone is born in. We don’t have to earn the right to be included – we are all born as equal citizens and part of a community."

"Creativity takes courage."

Henri Matisse

We are immensely proud of our arts curriculum. The arts play a crucial role in school, offering a profound and intrinsic value that enhances our pupils' lives in countless ways. They serve as a powerful means of expression, allowing children to convey their emotions, thoughts, and ideas in unique and creative ways. Through visual arts, music, dance, theatre, and literature, we inspire imagination and creativity, fostering personal growth and self-discovery.

We provide an avenue for pupils to explore their identities, challenge conventional thinking, and push the boundaries of innovation. Moreover, our arts curriculum promotes critical thinking, problem-solving, and communication skills. All staff encourage collaboration and cooperation, which nurtures a sense of community and empathy. The arts at Montgomery bridges cultural divides, promoting cross-cultural understanding and appreciation.
