Junior Leadership Team Visits The Houses Of Parliament (10/11/2015)

On Tuesday 10th November the Junior Leadership Team visited the Houses of Parliament. The trip was designed for the children to learn about the purpose, work and history of Parliament. This would be beneficial to the workings of Montgomery Primary Academy.

Whilst at the Houses of Parliament, we were given a tour of both ‘Houses’ and found our information about the historical significance of the Palace of Westminster. We were able to discuss with the tour guide about the type of work that goes on there.

During the day we were able to look at the structure and architecture of the building. We found out that the architect was called Pugent. Learning about and actually seeing the House of Commons will enable us to set up debates on issues that matter to us. We want to have our voice, use our vote and influence in a meaningful and democratic way.
