Year 6 Leavers Broadcast (21/07/2017)

It was very sad to see the fantastic Year 6 children leave our school for the last time on Friday. We managed to record some of the children’s goodbye messages and create a couple of songs to celebrate their time at Monty.

Reception - End Of Year Picnic (13/07/2017)

This half term children have enjoyed reading lots of fairy tales and learning information about castles.  To mark the end of the term and the end of a busy and exciting year, we  invited parents to join us for a fairy tale themed picnic. The afternoon started with a music session led by our music teacher Mr Napier, followed by a picnic on the school field. Children also enjoyed playing lots of fun and exciting games with their parents. We would like to thank all the parents and carers for their support this year.

Montgomery Celebration Evening (11/07/2017)

On Tuesday evening, children from across the school took part in a celebration evening to showcase some of their hard work from over the year. From acting to singing, the event highlighted the wonderful array of clubs our children are able to take part in and the children's hard work towards our MONTY virtues of being confident children who persevere to refine their skills and talents.

It was a wonderful event with each pupil doing themselves proud. Well done to all of those involved and here is to next year's celebration!

Debate Mate - National Final (29/06/2017)

Yesterday, our amazing Debating team went to Oxford University to take part in the Debate Mate Nationals. After winning the Regional Cup, our team were invited along with 7 other schools to see who is the best Debating Team in the whole country. We went on a tour of the beautiful city of Oxford and then debated in some of  the most prestigious rooms in the University of Oxford. Our team won one out of two debates and one of our pupils were awarded with one of the top speaking scores in the whole competition. After a tough 2 rounds, we came fourth - we are the fourth best debating team in the country! The children have improved in confidence, articulacy and style. I am so proud of them and they are an absolute credit to Montgomery Primary Academy.

National Clean Air Day (15/06/2017)

On Thursday 15th June was National Clean Air Day. The Lions class (year 5) ran a campaign across the school to encourage as many children (and staff) as possible to walk, cycle or get the bus to school, to help reduce the amount of  pollution going into our air. We would like to thank everyone for their support in either walking to school or making alternative travel arrangements.

Red Nose Day 2017 - A Big Thank You!

Year 5 - Thinktank Visit (18/05/2017)

Year 5 went to the Thinktank, to learn about science and technology. We had a great day exploring forces and learning about machines of the past, present and future, as well as finding out more about the human body.
