Debate Mate Cup Final - West Midlands (15/05/2017)

Yesterday, our children competed for the Debate Mate Cup. We went head to head in 2 of the most challenging rounds we have ever faced, with other schools from in and around the West Midlands. Our first motion was 'This house would break the law in order to save the environment.' With this prepared motion, our children did unbelievably well and all four squads won. This meant the pressure was on for Round 2. We did not falter and out of all of the squads across the region, Montgomery came 4th and 1st place (winning the most points in the competition so far). This meant Montgomery Squad D had a place in the final vs Our Lady of Lourdes. Whilst it was a close call, WE WON, by a unanimous vote. This means, WE'RE OFF TO NATIONALS! We are so proud of you Monty, GO TEAMS!

MONTY Virtue Focus (05/05/2017)
Over the last half term, children across the school looked at our MONTY virtue of curiosity. The children worked extremely hard, both creating and researching answers to a range of questions in class. Many year groups were also lucky enough to go on a range of trips, to help them with their research and find interesting facts out about the topics they were studying.

The focus for this half term will be perseverance. Here at MONTY we know that it is important to never give up, even when we are finding things tricky. Throughout the half term, the children will be looking at how we can show perseverance, both inside and outside of the classroom.
