WOW, what a fantastic way to support Comic Relief, by having a fantastic debate at Blue Coat Secondary! Monty's squads headed over to debate the seen motion 'This house believes that giving money to homeless charities is more effective than helping homeless people directly.' Our squads did amazingly well and were up against some tough competitors, however they held their own and came third in Birmingham! We await the Debate Mate Cup on May 15th! GO TEAMS!

Junior Model United Nations At Joseph Chamberlain College (12/03/2017)

On Sunday, 5 year 6's went to JCC to experience the infamous Model United Nations! Here, colleges come from all over the globe to talk about how LECD's can be helped according to the 17 Sustainable Development Goals set out by the United Nations. Our very own Year 6 children stood up to represent Senegal and talk about the damage to the environment and how that is affecting the state. We proposed a resolution which was unanimously passed. The children were so brave and extremely confident to stand before over 300 college students and staff. Our year 6's worked extremely well together as a team and were a credit to our school. GO ASSEMBLY!

New Library Opening (03/03/2017)

On Friday 3rd March, Montgomery opened their brand new library! We had a host of guests from Peters Bookshop, Joseph Chamberlain Journalist Society, the local library, several drama companies as well as the best-selling author Dan Freedman!  Dan talked to the children about what inspired him to become an author and also talked about the endless possibilities that can be created through reading and enjoying books.

Your new library will become available to use over the next 2 weeks and we cannot wait for you to come and make it the heart of our school.
